Uniswap, the largest decentralized exchange, has announced a historic $15.5 million bug bounty for vulnerabilities in its v4 upgrade. This bounty, the largest ever offered, aims to ensure the security of Uniswap v4, following nine independent audits.
The bounty is specifically for identifying critical vulnerabilities in the core contracts of Uniswap v4, but excludes third-party contracts or applications. This reflects the company's proactive approach to security and maintaining its competitive edge.
Although the offer includes caveats, such as excluding issues previously identified by audits, the bounty stands out in the DeFi space. Only discoveries of "critical" vulnerabilities are eligible for the full payout, with lesser bugs earning smaller rewards.
The substantial reward aligns with Uniswap's commitment to secure its platform comprehensively and stay ahead in the DEX space by surpassing similar programs from competitors like LayerZero.
