Portugal's Banco de Investimentos Globais (BiG) has decided to halt customer transfers to cryptocurrency platforms. The bank manages around €7 billion in assets and made this move by citing guidelines from the European Central Bank (ECB) and anti-money laundering regulations as reasons.
This policy change was brought to public attention by José Maria Macedo, the co-founder of Delphi Labs, who shared a bank notification revealing the change. It has caused concern among customers who are involved in cryptocurrency transactions.
