Viral Telegram tap-to-earn game Hamster Kombat unveiled its roadmap for the remainder of the year and into 2025. The announcement came in time for the launch of its token, HMSTR, due on September 26.
The game plans to expand its offerings with a Web3 gaming platform. It will feature external payment systems, launch new games, and integrate NFTs as in-game assets on the platform before year-end.
A dedicated advertising network to serve its games is set for release in December. Revenue from the ad network will go toward buying back tokens and distributing them as rewards.
Only 43% of the game's total users (131 million out of 300 million) will receive HMSTR tokens during the airdrop, with 11.25% of tokens locked for 10 months to create scarcity and potentially appreciate token prices.
The game aims to retain engagement and onboard more players by leveraging a unique mix of Web2 and Web3 properties.
The Open Network (TON) anticipates a heightened load on its blockchain due to the HMSTR airdrop, which will mint coins for over 100 million monthly active users.
Some players are upset after being labeled 'cheaters' for collecting keys in the game's first season, which ended on September 20.
