FOX Business sources suggest that the announcement will be made soon. Current SEC Chair Gary Gensler is scheduled to step down in January 2025. Atkins is recognized for his pro-innovation approach to digital assets and has been a critic of regulation through enforcement.
While Atkins is seen as the frontrunner, other candidates are also being considered for the role.
