Metaplanet, a publicly listed Japanese company, has significantly boosted its Bitcoin holdings with a recent acquisition of 38.6 bitcoin for $2.2 million (¥300 million). This notable purchase reflects the company’s strategy of using debt to acquire Bitcoin, aligning with similar tactics used by other firms like Microstrategy.
As a result of this acquisition, Metaplanet now holds a total of 398.8 BTC, valued at approximately $27.6 million (¥3.75 billion). This aligns with a broader trend among institutions to bolster their cryptocurrency assets as part of their investment portfolios.
